Who is Lilith?
God created all living things, and then he created man…. He created a man and a woman and gave them dominion over all things. God named the man Adam, and the woman He named Lilith. Both were formed from the dust of the Earth and in both God breathed the breath of life. They became human souls and God endowed them with the power of speech. The were created equal…

I’ve never heard about Lilith before so thanks to you I’ve learnt a thing today. I’ve been looking on the internet about her to find out more about her history.
So here is a little summary :
Well, according to the mythology, Adam and Lilith were created by God at the same time from the same dust and were absolutly equal in everythings. But Adam didn’t accept it and wished to rule over Lilith but she wasn’t ready to left her liberty and equality to him so she left Adam and fled the Garden.
God sent three angels in pursuit of Lilith. They caught her and ordered her to return to Adam. She refused, and said that she would henceforth weaken and kill little children, infants and babes. The angels overpowered her and she promised that if the mother hung an amulet over the baby bearing the names of the three angels, she would stay away from that home. So they let her go.
After that God created Eve to be Adam’s mate [created from Adam's rib, so that she couldn't claim equality]. And ever since, Lilith flies around the world, howling her hatred of mankind through the night.
Lilith was the first feminist militant
So the first girl power attitude could have been in the Bible ?! waoww !
I understood why they didn’t keep it in the final Edition …
So if the film you’re shooting follow this story, here are a few title’s ideas :
“At the beginning was Lilith ”
or “the End of the Beginning”
or “and if only …”

My name is Ben. My friend Julia and I were the ones who co-wrote the script for this short film. Just wanted to stop in and shed some more light in this really interesting discussion.
Jules and I didn’t start with Lilith in the script! Originally, this was a ghost story. But some of the story-telling mechanics we were using required an explanation and a back story that the ‘ghost story’ just wasn’t giving us. It was kind of by happy accident that we explored this story. Of course, highly encouraged to do so by Erin!
If you check your Bibles, there are actually two very different stories of the creation of people. There’s a LOT of Biblical scholarship on this, and if you’re interested in that sort of thing, I encourage you to check it out. But in breif:
GENESIS 1:27
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ”
GENESIS 2:20-23
“And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. ”
There difference is that in one story, Man and Woman are created at the same time from the same stuff. In the other story, Man and Woman are created at different times from different stuff.
Huh? Where did the first Woman go?
In the Jewish folk-tradition, there’s a recurring character called Lilith who is regarded as a “night demon” and used as an early explanation for things like SIDS and Nocturnal Emissions.
In a book called The Alphabet of Ben Sirah, the Lilith Folk-Tale is explained a bit. That she was indeed Adam’s first wife, and she was rejected due to the fact that she did not want to have sex in the missionary position. Cast out from Eden.
This whole thing about the missionary position, of course, is just supposed to be a metaphor for her refusal to submit to Adam and insistance upon being his equal.
Whether or not this was originally in the Jewish Scriptures but was taken out is an intersting idea, but not really essential to either myself or Jules. The fact that the story EXISTS is the important part!
What we really wanted to explore was Lilith as a character. What would she be like? What would she sound like? What would she feel like? What has she seen? Most importantly: what does she want?
Both Jules and I are really excited to see this short story being told, and we’re both super-giddy to see how it looks! Also giddy to hear people are already talking about it!

Initially, please note that I do not speak English, but I use a translator of the Internet to interact. I know that the translation is not perfect, but enough to understand. So I decided to highlight some aspects that could, in my opinion, to provide to make up the personality of your character, based on the characteristics of Lilith:
Impulsive; Intense; Fold, even passionate, because, despite intense emotion, is able to act in a practical way with the same intensity, doing whatever it takes to achieve their goals; Proud therefore aware of his power; to Strong magnetism; Mistress; Dominatrix; Cruel; Vindictive; Relentless; Wild; ferina; lascivious; astute; artful; lens; Need to vent this feminine energy and crude, original, pure; Explosion momentum against all oppression; He loves to be independent and fight fiercely against everything and everyone, somehow, try to prevent from being free. Finally, a woman strong and unwavering in his beliefs and desires. One facet of the active ray that female passivity is not allowed. One extreme indomitable wants to ensure that its true nature and identity, existing as such, fully and unconditionally.

My thoughts immediately go to what could have been. Think about this…from that time forward man was the leader, the more powerful one in the relationship and women forever more and unto this day have been pushed back as the weaker sex and controlled to an extent by man. But what if it had went the other way? What if, in the beginning, Lillith had taken/been given the power over the first relationship? What difference would that one act make in the world we now know? Men are so quick to ACT and act with brutality and war. Would women, had we been the more powerful sex, have acted differently under the same circumstances? How would our world be changed?
The World is small !

So….On question I have now is about music to go with the film. Where do you turn for that? I’m a musician and would love to get into film scoring. Do you have connections in Boulder or elsewhere? Just curious…I started thinking about how I would score it from the photos.
